Organisations
Apart from individuals, we also want to help organisations working in Africa since we admire their outstanding work. Africa has many problems, and most of them are not taken care of by those, who are at least partly responsible and who should be really focussed - the governments of African countries.
So most of the gras root work is done by small and medium size non governmental organisations (NGO), private foundations, and churches. All of them already work hard and do a good and important job, but could do much better - if there would be more funds available. To get donations, one must be known and must have a chance, to explain the focus and the achievements of the work, so that donors can judge, whether and to what extend they are going to contribute.
And this can be done on this site as well. Here you can present your organisation and your work with text and pictures, and it will not cost you anything. What you need to do is to provide some valuable content on a certain issue to this website by using the 'contribution' form on top of this page. Whether it is an article about your tribe, your village or city, daily life, economics, or a report about a historic event, a political leader, a poet or musician, local craftswork or it is a recipe of an African dish - anything is good, as long it is not too plain and too simple. And of course, it must be self-created, not just copied from the internet or a book. We respect copyrights and expect the same from our users.
Once the contribution is evaluated and accepted by the webmaster, the contributor will be upgraded to author status for three months. As an author he/she will have access to his/her own promotion page, to explain the work of the organisation and to upload a set of photos. The author status can be prolonged at any time, so if someone send four good contributions, the status will be granted for one year. At the end of the granted period and, although being reminded no new content is contributed, the author status will be downgraded to ordinary member status. The promotion page will still be available, but without any direct contact details, and thus look less attractive, but of course can be brought back to life any time.
