This economic community of Central Africa, officially named 'Communante Economique et Monetaire de l'Afrique Centrale' has been grown out of a customs union founded on 8.12.1964. On the 23.11.1972 they have established a monetary union based on the Franc-CFA (Franc de Cooperation Financiere en Afrique Centrale). The convertibility of this currency is guaranteed by the State Bank of France, the exchange rate is fixed to the Euro.
